Chapter 10 - Silencing The Witness

Ye Kai stood in the darkness under the starlight. He resembled a statue, an icy cold statue.

Ma FangLing caught sight of him and struggled to make her way towards him. She fell into his arms and held on tightly. She started to weep and cry, her voice cracking and screeching, she couldn't even utter a single word.

Ye Kai kept silent as well. At times like these, words of comfort were extraneous. He slowly removed his coat and wrapped it around her.

At that time, Fu HongXue's sabre had returned to his hand. He turned and flipped to his feet and stared at Ye Kai. It was hard to tell whether it was resentment or disgrace in his eyes. Ye Kai didn't even look at him.

Fu HongXue gritted his teeth and said, "I am going to kill you."

Chapter 11 - Midnight Whispers

Several dozen stalks of green bamboo spread out across the small courtyard. A beautiful maiden with thin lashes and no makeup sat by the window with her hands on her chin, staring at him affectionately.

You could say that she wasn't astonishingly gorgeous, but she had eyes that seemed like they could talk, and a mouth that you knew was clever and witty. Although she was just sitting there quietly, you could almost feel the intoxicating aura that surrounded her. She was definitely unique compared to the majority of women that you normally see.

Just being able to talk to a woman like her would be enough for any man.

In attempts to court her, many suitors came trying their best to appear noble, wealthy, gentlemanly, and cultured.

Chapter 12 - Hidden Projectile Experts

Although the small courtyard was quiet and still, a light was lit in the building in back.

Had Xiao BieLi gone back to his quarters? What exactly was he doing when he was up there? Was there a set of dominoes up there? Or maybe a secret woman?

Ye Kai felt that he was certainly a mysterious and amusing person.

Just then, figures appeared in the window.

Three figures.

They were standing up as their silhouettes shined onto the window. But in an instant, they suddenly disappeared.

Chapter 13 - Third Madame Shen's Secret

It was pitch black inside that room.

Third Madame Shen had on a long flowing robe, it looked like she had just washed her face. Her countenance looked pale and afflicted. Streaks of blood covered the towel in her hands.

"Are ... are you okay?" Ma FangLing asked.

Third Madame Shen did not answer, instead she asked her, "You knew that I left here before?"

Ma FangLing smiled and winked at her, "Don't worry, I'm a woman too. I can pretend that I didn't see a thing."

Chapter 14 - A Proud Horse's Long Neigh

Ma KongQun slowly took his seat. The long table stretched out before him like a lengthy expanse of road. From puddles of mud and pools of blood to where he was now, he had really come a long way.

But where did that road lead from here?

Did it really lead back to those puddles of mud and pools of blood?

Ma KongQun slowly extended his arms onto the table. The wrinkles on his face looked even more pronounced in the rays of the morning sun. Each wrinkle had been carved with countless years of blood and tears. Some of it was his own, and some were the blood and tears of others!

Hua MenTian and Yun ZaiTian had already arrived. They sat there waiting quietly but looked like they had much on their minds.

Chapter 15 - Soaring Flowers Fill The Sky

Blood dripped down from the tip of his sword. Hua MenTian turned around to face Ma KongQun.

Ma KongQun stared back at him and slowly said, "You killed him!"

"Because he betrayed you." Hua MenTian replied.

"So you understand as well?" Ma KongQun said.

"I don't. But what I do know is that those who betray you must die!" Hua MenTian said.

Chapter 16 - Once One Enters The 'Hall of Ten-Thousand Horses' , Forget About Ever Returning Home

There was a small tea pavilion in the wilderness.

The riders liked to call this place the 'Nest of Peace and Happiness'. In reality, there was nothing special about this pavilion. But it was the only shelter around where one could avoid the rain.

When it started to pour, Ye Kai and Ma FangLing ran into this pavilion.

The raindrops were as big as beads of pearl.

The vast, endless grasslands in the rain looked like a scene right out of a dream.

Chapter 17 - The Mysterious Old Lady

The red parchment advertising a room for rent still hung from the outside of that small alleyway.

When Fu HongXue walked passed, he caught sight of that white-haired woman staring at him with her crafty , hate filled eyes. She really didn't look too amiable.

"Please step aside." Fu HongXue said.

"Why should I?" the old lady replied.

"I want to go inside."

"I heard that you weren't too fond of this place and were planning to move out. Why have you come back?"

Chapter 18 - The Flying Dagger That Saves Lives

A dagger three and seven-tenths inches long.

A flying dagger!

When Li MaHu saw that dagger, his face suddenly twitched.

Then, his entire body fell to the floor as if he was struck by a silent, invisible bolt of lightning.

As he collapsed, something dropped from his hands onto the table.

Chapter 19 - Cutting The Weeds And Pulling The Roots

Ye Kai took a few large strides forward and whispered politely, "My friend, did you have a reason for beckoning me? Please stay so that we may have a word."

The person in green didn't slow down, but instead quickened the pace. After another length of road, that person leapt into the air, exhibiting the unmistakable lightness skill, 'Following The Cicada In Eight Steps'.

Not only was this person's lightness skill incredibly fast, it looked exquisite as well. As Ye Kai watched that person's flowing robes gracefully dancing in the wind, his eyes couldn't help but widen. That figure looked so familiar but he couldn't quite place where he had seen it before.

Chapter 20 - A Drunken Haze To Solve A Thousand Worries

Ye Kai lifted his cup to take another sip, the wine started to taste a little bitter. He obviously understood just how difficult it must have been for her to have to be with a man she detested.

Third Madame Shen suddenly looked up as she brushed her hair to the side and exclaimed, "Would you believe me if I told you that I've never truly loved a man in my life before?"

Her eyes looked a bit blurry, she looked a bit inebriated.

"Actually, Ma KongQun was very good to me. He could've killed me off a long time ago." she continued.

"Why is that?" Ye Kai asked.
